Recombinant Human EGF (52 aa)

High-purity recombinant human EGF (52 aa), produced in E. coli, carrier-free, animal-origin free and low endotoxin. Highly active in epithelial, neural and organoid models.

Recombinant Human EGF (52 aa) is a high-purity, carrier-free growth factor produced in E. coli. It is designed for robust and reproducible activity across epithelial, neural, mesenchymal and organoid culture systems. Corresponding to the mature 52-amino-acid human EGF domain, this recombinant form promotes the expansion, proliferation and differentiation of ESC/iPSC-derived epithelial lineages, primary cells. It also supports a broad range of organoid models, including intestine, stomach, liver, pancreas, brain and tumor organoids.

Its chemically defined and animal-origin–free composition supports sensitive stem-cell and organoid workflows. Stringent endotoxin control ensures consistent performance. Delivered as a stable lyophilized powder, the protein offers easy handling, high recovery and minimal batch-to-batch variation, ideal for advanced media formulations and high-performance culture systems.

A solution of 10 mM HCl is included to reconstitute it.

We also offer a GMP-grade manufacturing option for regulated environments and therapeutic workflows. Contact us.

FAQs

Why is EGF widely used in epithelial and organoid-based models?

Recombinant human EGF is a potent activator of EGFR signaling, inducing rapid and robust mitogenic responses in epithelial cells. This makes EGF a core component of organoid culture systems and epithelial differentiation workflows, including models increasingly used in translational and preclinical research.

How does EGF contribute to reproducible organoid and differentiation systems?

EGF supports consistent epithelial proliferation and tissue organization through well-characterized MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling pathways. Its chemically defined, animal-origin–free formulation facilitates standardization of media formulations, a key requirement in advanced development and comparability studies.

Is recombinant EGF suitable for defined and serum-free workflows?

Yes. Carrier-free recombinant human EGF is well suited for chemically defined and serum-free media, where precise control of growth-factor signaling is required. These features are particularly relevant for media development and translational research in regenerative and therapeutic applications.

1 review for Recombinant Human EGF (52 aa)

    1. Hannah Wright

In our lab working with adherent cell lines, we incorporated this recombinant human EGF (52aa), carrier-free, into defined media formulations. The carrier-free specification is helpful when controlling all media components during experimental optimization. The product information provided sufficient guidance for preparation and storage. It has performed as expected within our routine cell maintenance assays.
