Anti-Taq DNA Polymerase Antibody

High-affinity monoclonal antibody for Hot-Start PCR specificity enhancement.

Anti-Taq Polymerase Monoclonal Antibody (4 mg/mL) from Canvax™ is a high-affinity antibody designed to bind and reversibly inhibit Taq DNA Polymerase activity at room temperature. This reversible inhibition prevents nonspecific amplification and primer-dimer formation prior to thermal cycling, allowing precise control over Hot-Start PCR reactions.

Upon the initial denaturation step (94–95 °C), the antibody dissociates completely, restoring full polymerase activity. The result is enhanced PCR specificity, sensitivity, and yield, particularly in multiplex or low-copy template reactions.

FAQs

Q1: How does the Anti-Taq Polymerase antibody improve PCR specificity?
It binds and temporarily inactivates Taq polymerase at room temperature, preventing unwanted primer extension before thermal activation.

Q2: Can the antibody be used with any Taq polymerase?
Yes. It is compatible with most recombinant Taq enzymes, including Canvax™ Horse-Power™ and standard thermostable polymerases.

Q3: Is it suitable for qPCR applications?
Absolutely. It enhances specificity in both endpoint and quantitative PCR assays.
