0.5M EDTA (pH 8.0)

High-quality, nuclease-free 0.5M EDTA solution (pH 8.0), ready-to-use for nucleic acid protection and cell culture workflows.

The 0.5M EDTA Solution (pH 8.0) is a ready-to-use molecular biology grade reagent widely employed as a chelating agent for divalent cations such as Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺. By binding these ions, EDTA effectively inhibits metal-dependent enzymes, preventing DNA and RNA degradation.

Commonly used in TAE and TBE buffers, as well as in TE buffer formulations, the 0.5M EDTA solution ensures nucleic acid stability during electrophoresis, storage, and purification. It is also essential in cell culture workflows, preventing cell clumping by blocking cadherin-mediated adhesion.
